PAPER PRESENTATION


The last date of Abstract Submission is 12th of March 2011.    Mail the abstract to the bmitfiesta@gmail.com 

Research serves to make building stones out of stumbling blocks. With this in mind, Fifth Dimension aims at serving as a launching pad for young engineers to present a paper on the latest inventions and advances in technology.

• There will be two (2) rounds.

o Prelims I: Abstract Submission: through CD or email.

o Mains: Paper Presentation

• There is no restriction on the no. of authors of the paper.

• A maximum of two members will be allowed to give the paper presentation.

• The abstract must contain the name, college name and e-mail id of the team members. It should also specify the field and topic of the paper.

• An abstract of 500 words should be mailed at bmitfiesta@gmail.com

• Best 8 entries will be shortlisted for the final round on the basis of the Abstract submitted.

Format of the Abstract:

• Brief concept of the idea.

• Technical aspects.

• Commercial/Industrial applications.

• Drawbacks, if any.

Specifications for the Paper hard copy :

• Approximately 3500 words, A-4 size paper.

• Derivations/mathematical analysis to be given in brief.

• Left margin 1”, right margin 1”, top margin 0.5” and bottom margin 0.5”,double column, single line spacing.

• The font size of the actual paper text should be 11 (Times New Roman).

• Printing should be preferably on laser jet printers.

RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR PARTICIPANTS:

• On the day of the event, the participant should bring two hard copies of the paper to be presented and a soft copy on two CDs and submit them at the registration desk. No floppy disk will be entertained.

• The time allowed for presentation is 8 minutes+ 2 minutes for interjections and queries.

• The decision of the judges will be final and binding.

• Editor provided for presentation will be MS Power Point XP.

• Operating systems provided to you will be:

1. Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional

2. Microsoft Windows XP Professional

3. Microsoft Windows 98

4. Fedora Core 4(LINUX)

• Extra time taken by the participant will lead to negative marking.

• LCD projector & OHP will be available.

• Please prepare your power point presentation in advance. No materials or equipment will be available at the conference for preparing your presentation materials at the last minute.

• Size of lettering and clarity of presentation materials are important. For letter size, we recommend Times New Roman with font size 24 points or larger.

• Please plan to arrive at the assigned session room ten to fifteen minutes prior to the start of the session (not just your presentation) to make sure that the needed presentation equipment is available in the room
